Heavy Stock (LSHS)

Low Sulphur Heavy Stock (LSHS) is a residual fuel oil produced from low-sulphur crude oil. It is a high-calorific-value industrial fuel widely used as an alternative to conventional Furnace Oil in boilers, furnaces, and other high-temperature industrial applications.

LSHS has a relatively high pour point, which means it requires appropriate temperature control during storage, transportation, and handling to maintain the required fluidity. For safe and efficient transportation, LSHS is commonly transported in insulated tank lorries with suitable temperature management.

Compared with conventional Furnace Oil, LSHS is known for its lower sulphur content, higher calorific value, and higher pour point. Its lower sulphur content can help reduce sulphur-related emissions and minimize corrosion in compatible equipment, making it a practical fuel choice for industries focused on efficient and cleaner industrial fuel usage.

Applications of LSHS

Low Sulphur Heavy Stock is widely used in industrial and commercial applications that require a high-energy liquid fuel, including:

  • Steam Boilers – Used for steam generation in industrial plants and power-generation facilities.
  • Industrial Boilers – Suitable for various process heating and steam-generation requirements.
  • Industrial Furnaces – Used as a fuel for high-temperature industrial heating processes.
  • Power Plants – Used in suitable fuel-fired power-generation applications.
  • Marine Applications – Used in compatible marine and shipboard boiler systems.
  • Process Heating – Suitable for industrial processes requiring reliable and high-calorific-value fuel.
  • Manufacturing Industries – Used for boilers, furnaces, and other thermal equipment across various industries.
